Despite the Red inability to make any real public statement, the Japanese publication Nikkei it that Toshiba President Atsutoshi Nishida will be announced definitive end HD DVD tomorrow, and to stop the sale of equipment and the media in March (as in days from now). Apparently Toshiba will withdraw its troops from retail shelves, but has no intention to give burned early adopters of any return (no kidding?), It sounds like a ceasefire agreement will include a bare PC drives, so those hoping to preserve the use of HD DVD, as a personal data storage medium probably will not have much luck. Apparently, the announcement will come together Toshiba plans to build a new semiconductor fabs, which we are sure they will try to spin as the improvement that far exceeds hill of beans (read: hundreds of millions), they lost in the format war
